Expressive Art Department Aims
The Expressive Arts faculty is dedicated to training students in Drama, Music, Dance and Art with an ambition to develop creativity, identity and expression.
Whilst studying in Expressive Arts students are challenged to take risks, smash boundaries and develop creatively as artists and performers.
At Siddal Moor students in KS3 study elements of all creative subjects and have an option to study the subjects further in KS4. There are currently both GCSE and BTEC exam courses in Drama, Dance, Music and Art.
Our Expressive Arts department consists of seven teachers who work on individual subject specific projects and also work on collaborations across the faculties. Recent projects have included stage combat, horror movies, street dance, radio jingles and graffiti.
Drama, Dance, Music and Art develop performances across the spectrum from short monologues to Dance and Art exhibitions. We are a rapidly growing and developing faculty who aim to produce high quality performances and musicals to ensure our pupils gain the necessary professional experience required to succeed artistically and personally.
